Founded in 1966 in Alberta, Canada, The University of Calgary is a prestigious public research institution and educational haven to more than 25,000 undergraduate and 6,000 graduate students. The comprehensive research university is ranked one of Canada’s top research universities, combining the best of university tradition with the city of Calgary’s vibrant energy and diversity. It stands out among Canadian universities in how it actively engages students in leadership development in all areas – the arts, athletics, science, medicine, engineering, volunteerism and business. It is also a leader in sustainability with its set of values embraced by the campus through teaching, leadership and campus operations.
THE CHALLENGE
Calgary University is one of the top 13 Research Universities in Canada. They came to us with a plan to help revolutionize the education process with their new Taylor Family Digital Library. The ultimate goal to extend their new “Eyes High” strategy aiming to become of the top 5 research in Canada.
They realized that the learning process of student’s has evolved, They wanted this space to capture student’s attention, imagination, and the cutting edge technology students are accustomed to.
WHAT WE PROVIDED
We installed (75) 12″ touch touch displays outside of the University’s digital library study rooms. The monitors notify room reservation schedules and availability allowing for minimal interruption.
The large format touch monitors were used as interactive signage for campus events, alerts and maps in various locations around the digital library. We added an additional (15) Custom 40″ Touch Monitors along with (2)Large Interactive Kiosks.
We've built a library that supports all the ways that knowledge creation happens today. So we support the research cycle from inspiration through access to information to analysis to synthesis to dissemination.

THE SOLUTION
The Digital Library captured innovative education. The students have interactive technology to augment their learning. In fact after the Taylor Family Digital Library was completed-with an overwhelmingly positive response for the students and faculty-Calgary had us upgrade their Energy, Environment, Experimental learning facility.
