Horizon Display offers various protective substrates to be used in conjunction with our optical touch screens or as stand alone solutions-on-demand. Horizon offers a multi-layered safety glass and MR10 Lexan. Integrating either of these substrates in a monitor provides a strong protective shield ideal for public or high traffic locations. Optical enhancement films and coatings can be combined with Horizon’s multi-layered safety glass to provide a complete customized solution.
Substrates & Safety Shields
Lexan Margard MR10
Horizon’s Margard coated Lexan MR10 sheet combines the impact strength of Lexan polycarbonate sheet with a proprietary abrasion/UV resistant surface that approaches glass in performance. Lexan MR10 Sheet with Margard coating is backed by a limited warranty against yellowing, abrasion resistance, breakage, loss of light transmission, and coating failure. Lexan MR10 sheet's unique coating is graffiti resistant enabling restoration to a like-new condition. In addition, Lexan MR10 sheet offers improved resistance to weathering as well as forced-entry protection. It is an excellent candidate for use in stores, public buildings, schools, airports, bus shelters and other high traffic areas. Lexan MR10 sheet is for transparent applications only and can not be combined with other films and coatings Horizon offers.
Multi-Layered Safety Glass
Horizon Display’s multi-layered safety glass consists of two pieces of glass bonded together with an interlayer of clear safety adhesive to create a protective shield 5mm thick. Horizon’s Safety Glass provides a transmissibility of approximately 95%. The safety glass has a hard coating and is the most scratch resistant safety shield Horizon offers. It can only be broken if heavily impacted. If heavily impacted, the safety glass will not break in large dangerous shards, but will crumble due to the interlayer of safety adhesive.
There are many coatings available for films on our Multi-Layered Safety Glass to increase performance such as anti-reflective, anti-glare, hydrophobic and privacy coatings.
This type of substrate is our most popular substrate used in conjunction with our optical touch screens.
Films & Coatings
Horizon Display offers various films and coatings for optical enhancement use with our multi-layered safety glass. Used alone or with Horizon’s optical touch screens, our multi-layered safety glass provides a strong protective shield ideal for public or high traffic locations with the ability to customize a solution-on-demand by using filters or coatings perfectly suited for your environment.
